Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Counting happens in your browser with JavaScript — nothing is sent to a server, ever. You can verify this in your browser DevTools Network tab.
How is reading time calculated?
We use ~220 words per minute for silent reading and ~130 for speaking aloud — the commonly cited averages for adult readers and presenters.
Does it count characters with and without spaces?
Yes — both live counters are shown, plus words, sentences, and paragraphs.
Is there a length limit?
No practical limit. Whole book chapters count instantly because your own device does the work.
