How long should a password be?
Long beats clever. 16 characters from a random generator is strong for most accounts, and 20 or more is better for the ones that matter.
Is the password sent or saved?
No. It is made in your browser with the secure random generator your device provides, and it exists only on this page.
How do you work out the strength?
Length times the number of bits each character adds. It is exact for a random password and says nothing about one you made up yourself.
